Jane Hearn, 83, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026.

Born on December 1, 1942, in Manteno, she was the daughter of Landis Paul Morris and Ruth Vivian (Walker) Morris.

Jane graduated from Manteno Community High School in 1960. She married Larry Hearn in 1964 and, together, they had three children – Shawn, Mark, and Jodi.

While the proudest highlight of her career was motherhood, she also worked as a secretary for several years. She also volunteered and cared for the needs of her community. Faith was her guiding light, and she took comfort in knowing a loving Jesus. She doted on her grandchildren and was a thoughtful listener, a confidant to many.

Jane was a voracious reader, a trait she passed down to her children and grandchildren. She loved cats and cared for several feline friends throughout her life. ‘Sweet’ is always the first word that comes to mind to describe Jane’s personality, matching her penchant for ice cream and honey buns. She lived at The Glenwood in Mt. Zion for the past 15 years, where she shared in many joyful friendships, enjoyed closeness with family, and read hundreds (if not thousands) of mystery novels. She will be dearly missed at the ‘fun table’ in the dining hall.

The Hearn and McCoy families would like to wholeheartedly thank the angels on staff at Glenwood Supportive Living and Hands of God Hospice for their exceptional support and dedication.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Landis and Ruth Morris; brother-in-law, Bob Perkins; longtime companion, Harold Smith, and many beloved feline friends.

She is survived in a legacy of love by her children, Shawn (Michelle) Hearn, Mark Hearn, and Jodi (Darrin) McCoy; sister, Brenda Perkins; grandchildren Ash Dwyer, Seth (Kiley) Hearn, Lily Hearn, and Brayden McCoy; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
