Michael A. "Mike" Galgano

Michael A. “Mike” Galgano, a retired Illinois Department of Transportation employee and United States Army veteran, died April 15, 2026, in Countryside, Illinois, following a heart attack. He was 70.

He is survived by three sisters: Marie Flamm, Margaret Lesmeister and Maria Caruso; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Jean Galgano; his brothers, John and Thomas; and his nephew, Michael Lesmeister.

Mr. Galgano was born Sept. 3, 1955, in Chicago. He served in the United States Army for three years, including one year in Korea. Following his military service, he worked for the Illinois Department of Transportation for 25 years before retiring. He was known for his reliability and work ethic.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice, Illinois.

A service and time of remembrance will be held Saturday, April 25, at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois.
