Armandina Ruiz De Zamora, a devoted mother and grandmother known for her warm hospitality and homemade flour tortillas, died April 15, 2026. She was 93.
She is survived by two children: Olivia Corral and Avelino Zamora; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hipolito Ruiz and Rebeca Chapa, and her siblings, Ricardo Ruiz, Efrain Ruiz, Maurilo Ruiz and Yolanda Ruiz.
Ruiz De Zamora was born July 10, 1932, in Mexico. She was known throughout her family as “Grandma” and was celebrated for welcoming all who visited her home with warm hospitality, coffee and homemade meals. She enjoyed word search puzzles and spending time with her large extended family.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 19, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave., Justice, Illinois.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
