A group of Evergreen Park Community High School students stepped خارج the classroom this week to gain real-world career experience during a daylong program in downtown Chicago.

Twenty-one students from the school participated in “Advice Beyond the Classroom” (ABC), held at the UBS Tower, where they engaged in activities designed to help build professional skills and connections.

The program focuses on preparing students for future success by offering structured curriculum and access to a network of alumni and professional mentors. Organizers say the goal is to give participants a competitive edge as they begin planning their careers.

Throughout the day, students took part in presentations, networking opportunities and team-based challenges aimed at developing communication and leadership skills.

Evergreen Park Community High School earned third place overall in the event’s competitions. Among the group, Sam Sliter was recognized as the top speaker.

Students representing the school included Jade Alfano, Sam Sliter, Tess Lee, Keira Kelly, Morgan Brady, Shannon Farrell, Faith Etapa, Griffin Yeaman, Brady Bruen, Audrey Bilas, Hannah Pikus, Adeline Zdano, Nolan Kress, Brenna Hayes, Madison Majka, Natalia Porroga, Molly Goyke, Nora Peart, Lola Ramazinski, Ryan Smyth and Fatima De La Pena.

School officials said opportunities like ABC provide students with valuable exposure to professional environments while reinforcing skills that extend beyond traditional classroom learning.
