A trip around the world did not require a passport last week, just a seat at the table.

The Palos Park Woman’s Club brought global flair and springtime charm to its annual “Passport to Spring” luncheon on April 9, transforming Cog Hill Country Club, 12294 Archer Ave, Lemont, into a vibrant showcase of culture, creativity and community spirit.

This year’s theme, “Passport to Spring: Celebrating a World in Bloom,” came to life through elaborately decorated tables designed by club members. Each setting told its own story, drawing inspiration from travel destinations, cultural traditions and personal heritage. From bright florals to carefully curated place settings, no detail was overlooked.

Guests moved from table to table admiring the displays before settling in for a lively afternoon luncheon filled with conversation and seasonal cheer.

Adding to the experience was the “Bee Beautiful Boutique,” a pop-up shopping area featuring bee-themed items and spring-inspired goods. The boutique offered attendees a chance to browse unique finds while supporting the club’s ongoing efforts.

The luncheon, a long-standing tradition for the organization, serves as both a social gathering and a key fundraiser. Each year, members take pride in crafting tables that reflect the theme in fresh and imaginative ways, making the event a highlight of the spring season.

More than just a luncheon, the gathering celebrated connection, bringing together neighbors, friends and community members for an afternoon that felt both festive and meaningful.

With another successful event in the books, the Palos Park Woman’s Club once again proved that a little creativity and a lot of heart can turn a simple lunch into a journey worth taking.
