The Palos Park Recreation and Parks Department welcomed families to a festive morning of food and fun during its annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 13, at the Palos Park Recreation Center.
Held at the center at 8901 W. 123rd St., the event drew residents of all ages for a hearty breakfast and a chance to celebrate the holiday season together. A hot breakfast of pancakes, eggs, hash browns, fruit, bacon and sausage was provided by Royalberry Waffle House & Restaurant of Palos Heights, while coffee was supplied by Strange Brew in Palos Hills.

After breakfast, children and families lined up to meet Santa Claus, posing for photos and sharing holiday wishes. Adding to the fun, Buddy the Elf made a special appearance, played by Palos Park Newcomers Welcoming Committee member Larry Wisowaty, delighting children and parents alike.
The Palos Park Public Library added to the festive atmosphere by hosting a craft station where children made ornaments to take home, while face painting offered another popular activity throughout the morning.
Palos Park Mayor Nicole Milovich-Walters attended the event and spent time greeting families. She said Breakfast with Santa is among her favorite community gatherings of the year.
“It’s one of those events that truly brings people together,” Milovich-Walters said. “It’s a wonderful way for families to connect with one another and kick off the holiday season.”
The annual celebration continues to be a tradition for the village, combining local businesses, community organizations and volunteers to create a welcoming holiday experience for Palos Park families.
