If you’ve ever wanted to legally run through town in a Santa suit while jingling like a reindeer, Peotone has the perfect event for you.

The Peotone Park District is launching their first annual Santa Shuffle Fun Run on December 13, and they’re going all-out with the holiday chaos. Picture this: dozens of Santas, elves, and other holiday characters jogging through town wearing mandatory jingle bell wristbands, creating what might be the most festive cacophony in Will County.

The one-mile course starts at the Park District building (8 Blue Devil Dr.) at 2:15 p.m., kicked off by none other than the Grinch himself — talk about irony. The real prize? Your jingle-fueled journey ends at Cornerstone Coffee House with free hot chocolate, because nothing says “holiday tradition” like caffeinated Santas.

For $20, you get the full experience: jingle bells, hot cocoa, a holiday medal.

All ages are welcome, so expect to see everything from tiny elves to seasoned Santas shuffling through Peotone’s streets. Check-in starts at 1:45 p.m., giving you just enough time to adjust your fake beard and practice your ho-ho-hos.

Fair warning: You might never hear jingle bells the same way again.
