1. Mount Carmel (14-0) 1

The Caravan beat Oswego 20-3 in the Class 8A final for their IHSA-record 17th state title.

2. Brother Rice (13-1) 3

The Crusaders won their first state title since 1981 and second overall, beating St. Rita 16-0.

3. St. Rita (9-5) 6

After starting 2-4, the Mustangs won seven in a row to reach the 7A final before falling 16-0 to South Side rival Brother Rice.

4. Nazareth (11-2) 2

A semifinal loss in overtime to eventual Class 6A champ Fenwick ended the Roadrunners’ bid for a four-peat.

5. Lyons (8-3) 9

The Lions reached the Class 8A second round before being eliminated by Fremd.

6. St. Laurence (8-5) NR

In coach Pat Swanson’s first season, the Vikings reached the Class 6A semifinals before falling to East St. Louis.

7. Richards (9-2) 5

The Bulldogs won another South Suburban Red title and advanced to the Class 7A second round before falling to Hersey.

8. Sandburg (7-3) 7

First-year coach Sheamus Murphy’s Eagles won their first conference title in 30 years and earned a Class 8A postseason berth before falling to Lockport.

9. Riverside-Brookfield (8-2) NR

The Bulldogs had their winningest season since 2017 and reached the 6A playoffs before falling to Rolling Meadows.

10. Andrew (5-5) 8

The Thunderbolts qualified for the 8A playoffs, falling to Moline.
