Northwestern Medicine Living Well Cancer Resources has opened a new satellite location at the St. George Cancer Institute in Orland Park, making its free supportive care services more accessible to individuals and families affected by cancer.

“In the cancer clinic, there often isn’t time to address all the holistic needs of cancer patients. Living Well more than fills that gap, providing patients and families with practical tools that improve well-being,” said Christopher George, MD, medical director of oncology.

For more than 20 years, Living Well has served as a hub of hope, resilience, and community for tens of thousands of survivors, caregivers, and families. What began as a small grassroots initiative has grown into a nationally recognized program with locations in Geneva and Warrenville, and now Orland Park joins that network.

Living Well offers a wide range of services designed to support the whole person, not just the disease. These include counseling and social work services, support groups, fitness, yoga, art and nutrition classes, medical presentations, and a wig boutique. All programs are provided at no cost to anyone impacted by cancer.

The new Orland Park location brings expanded offerings to the southwest suburbs. Services include a designated wig boutique with individual consultations, exercise consultations for personalized fitness plans, and a variety of fitness classes such as Tai Chi: Meditation in Motion and Chair Yoga. Chair Fitness classes for lymphedema and neuropathy will begin in January 2026, with additional sessions planned for summer 2026.

Patients undergoing treatment can also participate in chairside visits, which provide hand massages or small art projects in the infusion area, and pop-up art therapy classes that will expand to monthly offerings in 2026. Beautiful You Workshops offer guidance on scalp and hair care, makeup lessons, and styling options with scarves and hats for anyone experiencing hair loss. A respite area with puzzles, coloring pages, and an art table is also available for stress relief.

Anchored by the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, the St. George Cancer Institute provides advanced care for patients at all stages of cancer, from early diagnosis through treatment and survivorship. Patients can access leading-edge cancer services close to home, including a state-of-the-art infusion center with private chemotherapy rooms, an on-site infusion pharmacy and lab, radiation oncology with access to proton therapy at the Warrenville location, and PET, CT, and MRI imaging.

The new satellite office at Orland Park reflects Northwestern Medicine’s commitment to ensuring comprehensive cancer care is accessible and supportive, offering resources that address not only treatment but emotional, physical, and practical needs for patients and their families.
