Orland Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a fire early Saturday morning at a two-story apartment building in the 15200 block of El Camino Terrace in Orland Park
Upon arrival, firefighters reported smoke showing from the eaves on the northside of the building.
Firefighters who entered the north apartment on the second floor were quickly faced with heat and fire from the kitchen area, which was quickly extinguished.
The fire was restricted to the one unit, fire officials reported.
Other fire companies arriving on the scene cleared the fire unit and the other units in the building assuring no one was inside the building at the time of the fire.
Other companies who assisted on the scene were Engine 2, Engine 5, Truck 4, Ambulance 3, Ambulance 4, Ambulance 5 and Palos Truck 9.
Supporting were companies from the Tinley and Palos fire departments.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
