Costumes, candy, and community spirit filled the parking lot at Glen Maker American Legion Post 1160 in Chicago Ridge on Thursday evening, as families gathered for a night of festive fun at the annual Trunk or Treat.

The event, held Oct. 23 at 10739 S. Ridgeland Ave., drew a large crowd eager to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. Under a clear autumn sky, the lot was packed with cars decorated in cobwebs, pumpkins, and flashing lights, each one offering candy to costumed children from around the neighborhood.

Among the participants were Wendi and Ed Kunz, of Oak Lawn, who brought their classic 1932 Plymouth and 1932 Ford to the celebration. The couple joined in the fun by passing out candy from their vintage rides, drawing plenty of attention from car enthusiasts and trick-or-treaters alike.

In addition to the candy-filled trunks, guests enjoyed raffles, free hot dogs, and a cheerful atmosphere that kept families smiling well into the evening. Kids showed off their costumes while parents chatted and took photos, creating memories in true community fashion.

The Glen Maker American Legion Post 1160, a long-standing pillar in the Chicago Ridge community, once again proved it knows how to bring people together. Thursday’s event mixed the best of Halloween fun with hometown warmth — and by the end of the night, everyone left with full treat bags and happy hearts.
