When Erin Stevenson watched her daughter Leslie grow up, she saw more than a curious, creative girl. She saw a spark, a reminder that every girl deserves to believe in herself, to dream boldly, and to know that she can.

That spark became the heart of She CAN!, Stevenson’s newest book, officially published in October 2025. The founder and CEO of The Do Good Movement, Stevenson has made it her life’s mission to empower women and children to embrace confidence, compassion, and connection.

“This book was inspired by a deep desire to empower girls and women of all ages to believe in themselves, chase their dreams, and know that anything is possible when we support one another,” Stevenson, of Palos Park, said. “The inspiration came from watching my daughter grow up in a world that needs more encouragement, connection, and belief in the power of ‘she.’”

She CAN! is more than words on a page; it is a family project born from love and shared purpose. The book’s vibrant illustrations were created by Stevenson’s 9-year-old daughter, Leslie, whose art brings the message to life in a way only a child’s imagination can.

“From the beginning, I knew I wanted this to be a shared project between mother and daughter,” Stevenson said. “Leslie has always loved art, and her creativity perfectly captured the heart of the message. Having her illustrations bring the story to life made this project even more special. It became a true reflection of what’s possible when we believe in ourselves and each other.”

To Stevenson, the collaboration represents far more than a creative partnership.

“This collaboration means everything to me,” she said. “Combining my passion for empowering others with Leslie’s imagination and artistic expression has been one of the greatest joys of motherhood. She CAN! isn’t just a book; it’s a legacy of belief, love, and shared dreams.”

Leslie shares that joy wholeheartedly. “It feels amazing to be part of this book because I got to draw all the pictures and help tell the story,” she said. “I hope it helps girls know they can do anything they set their mind to, just like my mom always tells me.”

She CAN! is the fourth book in The Do Good Movement’s growing collection, joining I Am Strong, I Am Smart, I Am Kind, and The Mindful Mandala Alphabet Book. Each title is designed to nurture self-esteem, mindfulness, and kindness in children, helping them grow into confident, compassionate leaders.

At its core, She CAN! carries a simple but powerful message: every girl has the ability to dream big, believe in herself, and make her goals a reality. It also reminds readers of the strength that comes when women support women, and when generations lift each other up.

“It’s not just She CAN! Together, WE CAN!” Stevenson said.

Looking ahead, Stevenson and The Do Good Movement are expanding their mission beyond the page. In partnership with 1891 Financial Life and Lake Katherine, the organization will host monthly wellness gatherings throughout 2026 to unite women and girls through movement, mental health, financial wellness, and more.

“Our goal is to support all women and all girls to achieve whatever their dreams and goals may be and to get each other to our finish lines, together,” Stevenson said. “Why? Because, She CAN!
