Even with starting quarterback Jordan Boston sidelined by injury, Goode keeps rolling on.

Aedan Cleveland ran 11 times for 130 yards — including touchdowns of 16, 50 and 20 yards — as the Knights stayed unbeaten with a 36-0 shutout of Carver on Oct. 3.

Quaylen Dobbs ran 14 times for 74 yards, including a 10-yard TD, for Goode (6-0, 4-0 Public League South).

Jayden Patterson-Veal, who took over at quarterback when Boston was hurt, ran 18 times for 83 yards and one TD.

Free safety Zacharias Pagan had an interception and two tackles for the Knights and defensive tackle Thomas Davis contributed five tackles and a forced fumble.

Boston suffered a forearm fracture in Week 3 vs. South Shore, but coach Terrence McClarn hopes he can return to play on defense before the end of the season. In the meantime, Patterson-Veal — who had been playing safety — has been helping Goode stay on track.

It helps to have Dobbs, who already this fall has set Knights touchdown records for a game (six) and season (19). The senior has been getting college interest from North Park, according to McClarn.

Goode has clinched an IHSA postseason berth and now is hoping to stack up enough wins to earn a home playoff game.

Still ahead are key league games against Perspectives on Oct. 11 and Corliss on Oct. 17. Goode has never beaten Perspectives, while the Knights and Corliss head into Week 7 tied for the conference lead.

The perfect record notwithstanding, McClarn said the Knights haven’t peaked.

“We feel we’re still making mistakes,” he said. “The type of stuff that in the playoffs will hurt you.”

Back of the Yards 6, Kelly 0: Quarterback Diego Silva ran 12 yards for the game’s only score as Kelly (3-2, 3-0 Public League Blue Central) edged Kelly (3-3, 1-2) on Oct. 2. The Bobcats defense earned its second straight shutout, stopping the Trojans at the 3-yard line on one red-zone possession. Rogelio Rivera had three catches for 90 yards for the Trojans and Arturo Martinez had an interception.

Bogan 28, Hansberry 8: Davon Simmons scored three touchdowns for Bogan (5-0, 3-0 Public League Blue Southeast) on an interception return, a 60-yard run and a 70-yard kickoff return. The Bengals also had a 72-yard touchdown run from Jumarion Sidener.

Kennedy 16, Hubbard 8: Kavarion McCarter had an 11-yard touchdown run and Victor Sandoval added a 5-yard scoring carry as Kennedy (4-2, 2-1) beat Hubbard (3-3, 1-2) on Oct. 2 in the Public League Southwest. Quarterback Mason Rychetsky ran for 129 yards, Sandoval rushed for 93 and McCarter ran for 88. Senior Xavier Guzman led the Crusaders defense with nine tackles and a sack for a safety.

Leo 46, De La Salle 13: Zach Woodberry rushed 19 times for 130 yards and scored on a 37-yard run for De La Salle (0-6, 0-2) in the CCL/ESCC Red. Phillip Seltzer (7 of 15, 90 yards) threw a 23-yard TD pass to Amari Brown (four catches, 49 yards).

Solorio 1, Englewood 0: Solorio (1-4. 1-2 Public League South Central) picked up a forfeit win.
