The Palos Heights Farmers Market is preparing to close out its 2025 summer season, with the final day set for Wednesday, Oct. 8.
All season long, the municipal lot at 12217 S. Harlem Ave. has been filled each Wednesday morning with shoppers searching for fresh produce, flowers, and unique finds from local vendors. The market has been open rain or shine from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and vendors say this year has been one of the best yet.
“It has been an awesome season here in Palos Heights,” said Kelly DeVine, co-owner of The Emerald Cup. “It’s also been an exceptionally warm fall with hot weather that is keeping everyone outside.”
The extended warmth kept crowds steady and energy high at the market, according to vendors. Rob Skinner, of Lyons Fruit Farm in South Haven, Mich., said he looks forward to coming back each year. “Everyone is always so nice and friendly,” he said.
One of the market’s longtime favorites, Joe Hiemenz of Hiemenz Nursery, agreed that the 2025 season has been a success. “The season has been very good to me,” he said.
The market, a staple for residents and visitors alike, has become more than a place to shop—it’s a weekly community gathering where neighbors catch up and newcomers are welcomed.
Don’t miss the last day of the Palos Heights Farmers Market on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
