Dysylan Witcher, 22, of the 16100 of Richmond Ave., Markham, and Karea Cargo, 22, of the 3500 block of Fountainbleau Dr., Hazel Crest, were charged Sept. 4 with felony retail theft, use of credit/debit card with intent to defraud and possession of another’s credit/debit card with intent to defraud or use, police said.
Police said the two men and a young child entered Home Depot, 7300 W. 159th St., and came up to the self check-out register with 15 rolls of insulation and a bottle of Sprite.
They paid for four rolls of insulation and the bottle of Sprite using a stolen credit card but failed to pay for the remaining 11 rolls, police said. They walked out of the store with the insulation on two flatbed carts, police said. The 11 rolls of insulation were valued at more than $400.
As they exited the store, Witcher and Cargo ignored store security’s calls to stop prior to police arriving on the scene.
In searching Witcher’s wallet, police said they found eight credit cards in other peoples’ names.
