Orland Park officials announced Monday that the village received a clean audit opinion for fiscal year 2024, marking the highest level of assurance available from an independent auditor.

The results, presented at the Aug. 18 Board of Trustees meeting by Anthony Cervini of Sikich LLC, were included in the village’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

The audit was also completed on time for the first time in three years, a milestone officials said reflects a renewed emphasis on financial transparency and stability.

Mayor Jim Dodge said the clean opinion is critical to maintaining the trust of residents, businesses and bond rating agencies, adding that timely completion is equally important to restoring the village’s long-term financial reputation.

Village Manager George Koczwara attributed the progress to a reset in focus, saying timely reporting is an essential part of effective governance and that the village has taken concrete steps to strengthen financial stability.
