Orland Park police have issued two citations to the Sky Zone trampoline park in the wake of Sunday’s brawl, Cmdr. Kenneth J. Rosinski told the Regional News on Thursday.
“The citations were for conduct of licensees,” said Rosinski, adding there would be future hearings on Sky Zone’s business license because of the citations. The trampoline park will remain open in the meantime, he said.
Rosinski said police are reviewing video footage taken inside the Sky Zone once the fighting started.
“There’s lots of video we’re reviewing,” he said.
He said the fight occurred because “there were too many kids unsupervised. What started as a large skirmish between two youths turned into a bunch of little skirmishes.”
The trampoline park was packed with a crowd of an estimated 200 young people during a “free jump” day on Easter Sunday.
Police said they initially responded to a battery call at the business and found the brawl in full swing when they arrived. Additional police units were called in from Tinley Park, Orland Hills and Oak Forest, as well as Will County and Cook County sheriff’s departments to help disperse the crowd.
Rosinski said one youth was issued a citation for battery but there were no injuries reported.
The fight was reminiscent of a similar fight in 2020 at a lock-in event. An investigation found the trampoline park was over capacity at the time with more than 800 guests inside while capacity was listed at a little more than 600.
The village voted to close the business after that incident but upon appeal a court reversed the decision and the business was allowed to stay open after a settlement was eventually reached with the village.

Why is this place still open? I am a resident of Orland Park & I constantly see this place as trouble!!
Do you prefer this kids roam the streets and get involved In drugs and alcohol ?
It just sounds like you’re making excuses for these kids to act like criminals at a trampoline park. I also bet your kid was at SkyZone that day. You sound defensive.
Skyzone has had problems with kids in the past so should have a policy in place where anyone 16 and under have to be accompanied with an adult.
