The Will County Division of Transportation (DOT) will hold a Public Information Meeting concerning the proposed improvement of the Burville Road at Exchange Street intersection in Crete Township, near the Village of Crete. The meeting will be held at Crete Township Fire Protection District Station #1, 26730 S. Stoney Island Avenue in Crete, on April 30, from 4-7 p.m.

This will be the second public meeting regarding the project, aimed at addressing intersection safety and operation. Representatives of the Will County DOT will be available from 4-7 p.m. and will answer individual questions and record comments offered by those in attendance. Representatives will address topics, such as the need for the project, the preferred design alternative, right-of-way acquisition, and the tentative construction schedule. Materials presented at the meeting also will be available at www.BurvilleAtExchangeStudy.com.

As a federally funded project, the public information meeting is being held in compliance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requirements and the Illinois Department of Transportation’s public involvement policy. The meeting will be conducted informally, with exhibits, a recorded presentation, and staff available to discuss the project.

  1. Roundabouts are a bad idea for this area.
I believe that the traffic volume on exchange traffic would completely saturate the intersection.

Is indiana helping to pay for this?
All the relocation into indiana because of the high school taxes in Illinois is the cause of the excessive traffic.
