A stolen truck and trailer belonging to Two Brothers Freight was recovered April 6 in Mokena, just hours after it was reported missing in Justice.
Police said the vehicle was last seen around 9 p.m. April 5 in the 9000 block of West 79th Place. The theft was reported the next morning at 7 a.m.
Investigators found a GPS unit from the cab discarded at the scene, but the trailer’s GPS was still active and had not been removed.
That allowed police to track the rig to the 11100 block of West 89th Place in Mokena.
A Will County Sheriff’s deputy located the vehicle there around 1 p.m., police said.
The trailer had significant damage but both the truck and trailer were returned to the company.
