1. Why did you decide to run for trustee?
I seek re-election because I believe in the investment of the future of Crete. What we do today is not only for the present, but will ultimately affect all of our future. I’m invested in the future growth and development of the Village of Crete for my/our children, so we may all continue to prosper in this great town. Additionally, I have a great sense of pride and family connections to this town, and I am proud to call Crete my home.
2. Have you held public office before?
I have been a current village trustee for 18 years
3. What is your background (length of time lived in Crete, education, career)?
I am a third generation resident of Crete. I am married to my wife Linda. We have raised two wonderful girls, graduates of Crete-Monee High School. We are proud grandparents of two grandsons, Carson 10 and Grayson 3. I am employed by Sunbelt Rentals as a Strategic Account Manager for Chicago and Northwest Indiana, where I have been in the business for 20 years. I currently sit on two other boards, Orange Lake Country Club Villa Association, OLCC 1 Inc. Board, and an elected position as Vice President, Kissimmee Florida, for the last 29 years. I was just re-elected for my second term for Beachwalk Property owners association BPOA in Michigan City, Indiana, where I sit on that board as vice president.
4. What community involvement, organization, affiliations, or club memberships do you have?
I help with our Memorial Day Parade committee.
5. What characteristics, qualifications, or experience do you feel you possess to be a trustee?
I offer the 18 years of my village trustee experience, along with the time I was on the planning and zoning committee prior to my trustee position. This allowed me to understand the bricks and mortar of our village and government.
6. What are some long-term goals you would like to see the village complete?
Focus on a continued economic growth to our village, new retail to help our tax base, enabling residents to continue to shop in our town.
7. What are important issues you’d like to address and how will you address them?
My passion for the Village of Crete enables me to keep the interest of the residents and the Village of Crete at the forefront of my entire decision-making.
