Countryside will again host a summer concert series.
At a meeting last month, aldermen unanimously approved a contract with Designer Event Chicago for the series.
The company will be paid $32,030 for producing eight concerts from June to August in Countryside Park.
Performers have not been announced. The series starts June 12.
Ald. Scott Musillami (3rd), who chairs the council’s special events committee, said bands are paid rain or shine. There was one rain out last summer.
He especially likes the variety of music in the summer concert series. Different genres are heard each week.
“And, we try to not sign the same band back to back years so we can have a little bit more variety,” Musillami said.
One of the concert nights will feature fireworks after the band performs.
