Cleopatra Sparkman, 35, of the 8000 block of South Honore Street, was charged with retail theft and multiple other offenses after her arrest at 12:07 p.m. on Feb. 2 in the 4700 block of West 87th Street.
Police said Sparkman left a nearby store with a cart full of merchandise and punched a man who attempted to stop her. She fled the scene and struggled with officers before being taken into custody, police said.
During the arrest, officers found seven knotted bags of crack cocaine, police said. Sparkman was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and battery.
Not enough held against those involved in theft & drugs. Get a tap on the wrist only to be let go & repeating such offenses or escalate to worse. They know the law will allow them. You wonder why so much crime, it’s ashame
