A new brunch spot in Oak Lawn is making waves with its stylish vibe and creative menu. Hashtag 95, located at 6260 95th St., opened its doors in September and has quickly become a hotspot for foodies and social media enthusiasts alike.
Owned by Palos Park couple Nick and Jacki Perakis, the restaurant aims to blend bold flavors with a photogenic aesthetic.
Central to Hashtag 95’s appeal is its menu, headlined by the “#Hashtag Signature French Toast Sticks.”
The dish—a visual treat arranged to resemble the hashtag symbol—is dusted with powdered sugar and served with a decadent vanilla bean crème brûlée sauce. This Instagram-worthy creation, along with other inventive offerings, is designed to elevate brunch into a shareable experience.
“I always wanted to open a restaurant but never had the capital to do it,” said Nick Perakis, who also owns Rockefeller’s, a modern steakhouse in Oak Lawn. A veteran of the restaurant industry, Perakis honed his skills at Louie’s Chophouse while pursuing a psychology degree from the University of Chicago.
The success of Rockefeller’s, which opened during the pandemic in December 2020, gave Perakis the confidence to launch Hashtag 95. “Right away, Rockefeller’s was extremely successful,” he said. “That encouraged me to take on this new brunch concept.”
Oak Lawn, where Perakis grew up, was a natural choice for the restaurant’s location. “My mom still lives here, and it’s important to stay close to family,” he said. “This is home.”
Beyond the French toast, Hashtag 95, 6260 95th St., offers a variety of innovative dishes, including Poppy’s Style Crepes—filled with bananas, Nutella, and mascarpone whipped cream—and the Peter Rabbit Panini, a vegetarian delight with grilled portabella mushrooms, basil pesto, and mozzarella on sourdough. The drink menu features playful “#Signature Cocktails”, like adult juice boxes and the Pancake Old Fashioned.
