Louis “Gino” Di Crescenzo, 74, passed away surrounded by family on Dec. 24, 2024, in Chicago. He was born on Nov. 7, 1950, in Guardiagrele, Italy, and was a loving husband, father, nonno, brother, and son who touched the lives of everyone he met.
Gino was the devoted husband of Maria and the proud father of Paul, Louis Jr. (Lottie), Anthony (Veronica), and Stephanie (Vishal). He cherished his role as nonno to his grandchildren, Louis, Amelia, Lottie, Leia, and Sienna.
The son of the late Antonio and Filomena Di Crescenzo, Gino was also a beloved brother to Carmela, Antonietta, Giovanna, Giuliana, Nick, and Maria. He was a caring uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Gino had a deep passion for history, politics, geography, classical music, poetry, and soccer. He was a gifted storyteller who shared his love of learning and his tales with warmth and humor, creating a legacy of cherished memories. He loved exploring the Chicagoland area’s local food scene, delighting in discovering new establishments.
Gino left an indelible mark on his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be dearly missed, and his memory will be treasured always.
Visitation was held Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th Street, just west of Harlem). A Mass was celebrated on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Two Holy Martyrs Parish, St. Rene Goupil Church.
