The Nature Foundation of Will County is launching its year-end giving campaign with a goal to raise $45,000 to support the Forest Preserve District of Will County. Every donation helps fund vital projects and programs to helps give forest preserve visitors more of what they love.
That message is the focus of the Foundation’s year-end giving campaign, and the public’s help is needed to reach the fundraising goal to support more projects and initiatives across the Will County Forest Preserves.
“As a donor, you have that power,” said Tara Neff, the Foundation’s executive director. “You help make these things possible, and we hope you see and experience the impact your gift makes every day.”
The Foundation focuses on three core pillars: Protecting nature, inspiring discovery, and bringing people and nature together. Donations help support a variety of projects, including exhibits at visitor centers, wildlife conservation efforts, outdoor recreation initiatives, such as the Take It Outside challenge, and amenities like bike repair stations and water fountains.
“You don’t have to wonder how your gift will be used. You can experience it,” said Neff, adding she hopes people feel personally connected to the projects their gifts support.
Donations stay in the community, supporting local efforts, such as habitat restoration and environmental education. It’s an opportunity to see the direct impact of your donation, while enjoying the beauty and benefits of Will County’s Forest Preserves.
“Without a healthy environment, our quality of life suffers,” Neff said. “Your gift ensures clean water, clean air, and a place to connect with nature.”
Donations can be tax deductible and, because these funds are not tied to a specific project or initiative, they can provide immediate and flexible support for Forest Preserve District priorities. The Foundation encourages supporters to become members of The Legacy Society by including The Nature Foundation in their financial and or estate plans.
