“Our keynote presentation will be a debrief of the Platte Canyon High School shooting, presented by retired Deputy Chief DeAndrea and Keyes, who lost his daughter, Emily, during the incident. The loss of Emily spurred John-Michael and his wife, Ellen, to start the I Love U Guys Foundation. Their story is the “why” behind the push to make the I Love U Guys’ Standard Response Protocol and Standard Reunification Method the accepted framework for all-hazards school responses in Will County,” noted Dr. Caparelli-Ruff.
