Board Bootcamp, an initiative of United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois County and Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley, is coming to Iroquois County on January 9. This full-day training is designed to equip residents of Kankakee and Iroquois Counties with the skills and knowledge to serve effectively on a nonprofit board.
Board Bootcamp covers diverse aspects of board service – broken down to be simple and easy to understand. Attendees will hear from current nonprofit board members, network with community leaders, and learn how they can best contribute to the enhancement of local nonprofit organizations.
“I was new to the board and committee world and was nervous I wouldn’t understand. After finishing this camp, I feel more comfortable taking on this new opportunity and feel good about asking questions. Great course to take to be more involved in the community!” – 2024 Board Bootcamp participant.
Board Bootcamp’s first 2025 cohort will take place on Thursday, January 9, from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., and will be hosted at KCC’s Miner South Extension Center in Watseka. The cost is $50 per participant and includes lunch.
