On November 10, at approximately 6:36 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Lewis Mahogany, 26, of Monee, for speeding over the posted limit, operating an uninsured vehicle, DUI-Alcohol, and DUI-BAC .08 or more. Mahogany was released with a notice-to-appear via her citations.

On November 11, at approximately 4:09 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Clarissa Thomas, 41, of Robbins, for operating a motor vehicle when registration is suspended for non-insurance, driving while license suspended, and operating an uninsured vehicle. Thomas was released with a notice-to-appear via her citations.

On November 11, at approximately 5:46 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Yuenique Hardy, 32, of Hammond, Indiana, for driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle. Hardy was released with a notice-to-appear via her citations.

On November 13, at approximately 5:18 p.m., officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Monee Police Department to meet with a victim of identity theft. Officers met with a Monee resident, who said he had a bill from Verizon Wireless for $244.16 he did not recognize. The victim verified he does not have an active account with Verizon Wireless. He was given a Will County identity theft packet and information on how to get a copy of the police report for Verizon Wireless to document the fraudulent transaction.

On November 15, at approximately 9:32 a.m., a Monee Officer was flagged down by a citizen on the phone with a caller telling him he owed back federal taxes and threatened a warrant would be issued for his arrest if he didn’t send the requested payment. Officers heard the caller talking to the citizen, and when he was told the police were listening, the caller instantly disconnected. The IRS will not call citizens or threaten to issue a warrant for an arrest. If you receive a call like this hang up, do not give them personal information, or attempt to follow their payment instructions. The IRS will contact you via U.S. Mail Service.
