NANCY M. HERNANDEZ
We are saddened to announce the passing of Nancy M. Hernandez.
A resident of Chicago’s Garfield Ridge community, Nancy was the Director of Accounting for the Circuit Court of Cook County.
She was the loving mother of Sadat Dardovski and Ali Dardovski; cherished daughter of Jesus Hernandez and Martha Elena Vazquez; dear sister of Cynthia Castillo and Patricia Hernandez. Fond aunt of her nieces and nephews.
A Visitation in Celebration of Nancy was held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Avenue (55th street just west of Harlem). Courageous, fun-loving, loyal, honest and hard-working, Nancy will always be a ray of sunshine in everyone’s life and an example of a beautiful person and a wonderful mother.
BARBARA MARLIN
Barbara Marlin (née Ilkowski) passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the age of 86.
She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Allen Marlin and the loving mother of John (Joanne), Tom, and the late Louis “Andy” (Laura). Barbara was a cherished grandmother to Olivia, Maggie Tullier, Adam, Dana, Melissa, Anna, and the late Kyle Anne and Tommy, and a dear great-grandmother to Isaac, Bennet, Indie, and Rowan. She was a fond sister to Marion (the late Chuck) Kierscht and Richard Ilkowski.
Barbara grew up in Chicago, forming lifelong friendships during her school years at Saints Peter & Paul and Saint Xavier. A dedicated educator and world traveler, Barbara loved music, theater, skiing, and her dog, Lucky. Known for her charitable spirit, she volunteered at Lake Katherine, Neat Repeats, and other organizations. She took pride in her Polish heritage, always greeting life with a kind spirit and a beautiful smile that will be dearly missed.
Visitation will take place on Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, from 3-8 p.m. at Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th St. in Crestwood. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, November 23, 2024, with Chapel Prayers at 10:30 a.m., proceeding to Incarnation Catholic Church, 5757 W. 127th St., Crestwood, for an 11 a.m. Mass. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mercy Circle Nursing Home, 3659 W. 99th St., Chicago, IL 60655, where Barbara spent her later years.
ALEXANDRIA H. “SANDRA” PAWLAK
Alexandria H. “Sandra” Pawlak (nee Fultiak), passed away on November 9, 2024.
Loving mother of the late Darlene Pawlak, Deborah (Tim) Badowski and James (Fran) Pawlak; cherished grandmother of Lauren (Natale) Panzeca, Jennifer (John) Galivan, Amanda (Justin) Wroblewski, Sarah (Gabriel McAdow) Pawlak and Jessica (Veronica McConnell) Pawlak; dear great grandmother of John Timothy “JT”, Georgia Galivan, Natale Dominic Panzeca, August “Auggie” McAdow and bonus great grandchildren Macee, Madelaine and Tucker; beloved godmother of David Koznarski; fond sister of the late Tadeusz Fultiak. Aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday November 15, 2024 until time of Mass at Two Holy Martyrs Parish, St. Symphorosa Catholic Church located at 6135 S. Austin Ave, Chicago, IL 60638. Alexandria will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery.
MERCIANNE RENNER
Mercianne Renner (née Koldash) passed away peacefully at her home in Palos Heights on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the age of 96.
She was the beloved wife of the late John R. Renner. A devoted mother, she leaves behind her daughters Nancy (Mike) Pavesich and Karen (the late Wayne) Borinstein. Mercianne was a cherished grandmother to Sarah (Jerry) Ficaro, Cayley Wilson, Elyse (Matthew) Kociolek, Jeremy Borinstein, and Julie (Charles) Fabros, and a dear great-grandmother to Vinny, Frankie, Korey, Jacob, Ava, Owen, Ella, and CeCe.
She was a fond sister to the late James (Stephanie) and Gerald (the late Marie). Mercianne’s kindness, love, and presence will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
Visitation was held Nov. 18 at Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th St. in Crestwood. Funeral services took place on Nov. 19 at Incarnation Catholic Church, 5757 W. 127th St., Crestwood. Interment was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
FLORENCIA SILVA
Florencia Silva who was born on Februrary 15, 1963, passed away on November 9 at the age of 61.
Visitation was held Monday, November 18 at Szykowny Funeral Home, 4901 S. Archer Ave., Jonathan Siedlecki, owner – director. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Gall Church, 5511 S. Sawyer on Tuesday, November 19. Interment will be at St. Casimir Cemetery 4401 W, 111th St.
GERARD S. WOZNIAK
We celebrate the life of Gerard S. Wozniak who passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
He was a longtime resident of Chicago’s Clearing community and proud owner of Condor Machine Tool Company located on 63rd Street for over 30 years. Gerard was a hardworking, talented, “stand-up guy “who was a wonderful mentor. A Renaissance man who was passionate about his convictions and his beliefs, he will be missed by his family and friends who loved him for his integrity, humility and kindness.
Beloved son of the late Stanley and late Josephine Wozniak; loving brother of Christine (Gerald) Bennett, Catherine (Arthur) Serksnas, Colette Satek (William Satek) and the late Cynthia Wozniak; dear Uncle of Sara (Ed), Rebecca (Michael), Kristen (Jonah), Paul, Krista, Kyle and William. Gerard will be missed by his many friends, coworkers and customers.
Visitation was held Monday, November 18, 2024 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation was held Tuesday, November 19, 2024 until time of Prayers. Procession from the funeral home to Two Holy Martyrs Parish, St. Symphorosa Church for Mass. Gerard will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery.
