Manteno American Legions Post 755 and Manteno residents made sure local veterans were aware of how much the community appreciates their service, with two events held on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11.

The first event was the Military Warrior run, which began at 8 a.m., and commenced throughout the town, as well as making stops at the schools. Included in that parade/run were members and vehicles from: Veterans from Project Headspace and Timing – the PHAT Mother Ruckers; Manteno Veterans Home; military vehicles from the Veterans’ garage; Olivet ROTC Flying Tigers; American Legion Post 755 with motorcycles and battle cruiser; Jojo and his battle cruiser; along with enlisted military personnel and Veterans.

In the second event of the day, Legion members stepped-off from the Legion Post and proceeded to an 11 a.m. ceremony at Legion Park, which was well attended on the beautiful sunny day.
