Will County Animal Protection Services (WCAPS) is waiving all dog and cat adoption fees for veterans and active duty service members during November as part of their “Pets for Vets” promotion event.

“This November we are showing our gratitude for those who have served our country by making it easier than ever to adopt a new family pet,” said WCAPS Administrator Anna Payton. “I welcome any active duty service member or veteran to make an appointment to meet any of our very adoptable dogs and cats.”

Adoptable pets may be viewed in advance on the WCAPS Petfinder website at IL1035.petfinder.com. Appointments must be made in advance to meet available adoptable pets and may be made by calling 815-462-5633 or emailing adopt@willcountyillinois.com. Adoption hours are from noon until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the WCAPS office, 22452 Cherry Hill Road in Joliet. Veterans and active duty service members must provide military identification or a Veterans Administration card to qualify for the “Pets for Vets” promotion event.
