Peotone Police Blotter: November 8-14, 2024

Details: Peotone Officer conduced a traffic stop on a vehicle showing expired license plates. The driver was wanted on a warrant in Will County.  The female driver, Martinez, Elida was placed under arrest and transported to the Peotone Police Station for processing. Martinez was processed and posted a cash bond for failure to appear traffic warrant, Martines was also issuedcitation for driving with no valid license and released with pending court dates.

Nov 10, 2024 – Reckless Driving
Location:  400 Blk Third St.

Details:  Peotone Police were dispatched to the 400 Blk of Third St for report of a reckless vehicle, Whi Nissan Rogue.  Callers advised the vehicle was driving erratically through the neighborhood. Peotone Officers responded to the area, unable to locate the vehicle at this timebut have identified the registration.

Nov 12, 2024 – Accident
Location:  Wilmington-Peotone Rd / West St

Details:  Peotone Police were dispatched to report of an accident.  Upon arrival Officer met with drivers who advised there were no injuries.  Peotone Officer completed a Property Damage Accident Report.

Nov 12, 2024 – Fraud
Location:  900 Blk Locust

Details:  Complainant called requesting to speak with Peotone Officer reference being the victim of Fraud.  The complainant advised they submitted payment, purchasing an item online through a social media app, and have not received it or been able to make any additional contact.  Peotone Officer completed a report for fraud and investigative review.

Nov 13, 2024 – Traffic Stop
Location:  Rathje Rd / Oak St

Details:  Peotone Officer performed a traffic stop on an Orange Dodge missing a rear bumper and license plate, also matching description of a vehicle previously reported to be driving recklessly. Upon requesting to see the drivers’ license, the driver advised “he did not have it with him”.  Officers on scene advised him of the previous complaints. Initial Officer conducting traffic stop issued the driver 3 citations: 2 for improper display of license plates (Front and Rear), 1 for Failure to Carry Driver’s License on Person While Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Notice To Appear at a future date.  Driver was released with verbal warning on reports of the reckless driving.
