In an effort to inform the community of current crimes and seek the public’s assistance in pending investigations, Crete Police Department attempts to post information related to crimes and arrests occurring within the village. This is only a partial list of calls for service, as officers respond to a wide variety of calls that will not be posted. All subjects arrested for crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Crete Police Department responded to 18 traffic accidents during these dates.

October 2

A burglary was reported at Shorewood Home and Auto, with nine Echo chainsaws stolen.

Deborah C. Young, 64, University Park, was arrested for no valid driver’s license and leaving the scene of an accident.

October 4

Meagan C. Bodie, 34, Steger, was arrested for a warrant after attempting to steal makeup at Kohl’s and giving officer’s a false name.

After a pursuit, officers located three male juveniles in the area of Division and Park Streets, who were wanted by an outside agency for reckless driving and aggravated fleeing and eluding.

October 5

Delvodtis C. Golden, 42, Dolton, was arrested for driving while license suspended and DUI.

October 6

A retail theft was reported in the 1700 block of Dixie Highway.

Yoghen A. Perez-DaSilva, 34, University Park, was arrested for no valid driver’s license – never issued.

October 9

A theft was reported in the 1700 block of Dixie Highway.

Douglas R. Behrens, 70, Beecher, was arrested for aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer, reckless driving, and reckless conduct.

October 10

Jacqueline D. Martino, 42, University Park, was arrested for a warrant.

October 11

Todd M. Lenoir, 47, Crete, was arrested for a warrant.

October 13

Kameron J. McGinnis, 22, Sauk Village, was arrested for unlawful possession of cannabis by driver.

A battery was reported in the 400 block of W. Burville Road.

October 15

Shane E. Kline, 24, Beecher, was arrested for a warrant.

October 17

James A. Wilder, 54, Crete, was arrested for driving while license revoked, aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer, and a warrant. Wilder was found to be on parole and was detained at the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

Officers located and recovered a stolen vehicle after a pursuit, where five subjects ran from the vehicle. Investigation pending.

October 18

A home invasion was reported in 700 block of Naoma Drive. The incident was domestic related. Investigation pending.

October 19

Officers assisted an outside agency with the pursuit of a stolen vehicle from Matteson. Officers lost sight of the vehicle and terminated pursuit due to safety concerns.

A violation of an order of protection was reported in the 1500 block of Faithorn Avenue.

October 20

Sylvia M. Davis, 40, Chicago, was arrested for driving while license suspended.

Officers assisted an outside agency in the a pursuit of a vehicle wanted for traffic violations. Officers lost sight of the vehicle on Sauk Trail and terminated due to safety concerns.

A theft was reported in the 3400 block of Huntington Terrace.

October 21

A felony retail theft was reported at Kohl’s. A female stole more than $300 worth of clothing and exited through an emergency exit.  *On October 23, the suspect vehicle was located in Harvey by FLOCK camera’s and towed pending an Article 36 seizure hearing. (Vehicles and other property are subject to seizure when used in the commission of certain crimes. Crete Police Department utilizes these laws to deter criminals from committing crimes in our jurisdiction and to hold those accountable for victimizing others)

October 24

Ashley Rodriguez, 31, Crete, was arrested for aggravated assault, resisting or obstructing a peace officer and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer.

A 17-year-old juvenile was issued a station adjustment for a battery at CMHS. *A station adjustment is a restorative justice type procedure that involves the juvenile and parents (guardians) and seeks to hold the juvenile accountable without entering them into the criminal justice system (non-arrest). The juvenile must abide by the “contract,” which includes conducting community service hours, behaving at school and home, getting good grades, seeking counseling or mental health assistance, etc. If the juvenile follows the “contract,” they do not get charged with the crime. If they do not honor the “contract,” they are charged with the original crime and petitioned to juvenile court. Crete Police Department utilizes this tool and many others depending on the seriousness of the crime, the juvenile’s criminal history, the juvenile’s needs, etc.

A home repair fraud was reported in the 100 block of Denell Drive.

Marcus Hampton, 43, Park Forest, was arrested for driving while license revoked.

October 26

A theft was reported in the 900 block of E. Steger Road.

Ronnie J. Crawford, 57, Chicago, was arrested for DUI.

October 27

Raven A. Wallace, 31, Chicago Heights, was arrested for DUI and DUI BAC .08 or more.

A subject that had been kidnapped and reported missing from another jurisdiction on October 26 was located in the 3600 block of Ronald Road. The victim was transported to the hospital in good condition, and the investigation was turned over to the detectives in that jurisdiction

October 28

Anthony J. Richards, 38, University Park, was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.

Clemmie A. Chandler, 47, Chicago, was arrested for driving while license suspended and a warrant.

October 29

A theft was reported in the 3500 block of Edward Drive.

Derrick T. Brodanex Jr., 23, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was arrested for no valid driver’s license – never issued and possession of cannabis by driver.

A burglary was reported at McDonald’s. A male subject attempted to open the cash registers. Investigation pending.

October 31

Kyra N. Ferba, 23, Sauk Village, was arrested for driving while license suspended.
