The Village of Frankfort warmly invites the community to celebrate the season at Christkindl Weekend on Saturday, December 14, and Sunday, December 15, from noon to 6 p.m., in charming downtown Frankfort. This free, family-friendly celebration transforms the village into a winter wonderland, offering residents and visitors alike a perfect opportunity to enjoy holiday festivities, unique shopping, and cozy dining.
Stroll through downtown Frankfort’s beautifully decorated streets, where holiday magic fills the air. Discover one-of-a- kind holiday gifts in local boutiques and specialty shops, then relax in one of Frankfort’s welcoming restaurants, where you can savor festive treats, warm drinks, and delicious seasonal menus.
Throughout the weekend, visitors will find a host of exciting holiday activities, including:
• Roaming Santa and Mrs. Claus – Enjoy special holiday greetings and photo ops with Santa and Mrs. Claus as they stroll through downtown.
• Real Reindeer – See Santa’s reindeer up close and add a touch of magic to your holiday experience.
• The Wandering Grinch – Watch out for the Grinch as he wanders downtown with his holiday mischief!
• Girl Scout Carolers and Holiday Market – Delight in carols sung by local Girl Scouts and shop for handmade holiday items at their market.
• Strolling Dickens Carolers – Be serenaded by traditional carolers in Victorian attire, adding a touch of classic holiday cheer.
• Trackless Train – Young visitors can hop aboard the festive trackless train for a whimsical ride.
• Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides – Take a scenic ride through downtown, offering a delightful view of the festive atmosphere, along with charming shops and restaurants.
• Frankfort Brass Band – Enjoy lively holiday tunes played by the talented Frankfort Brass Band as they make their way through town.
• Lantern Parade and Story – Join the magical lantern parade, lighting up the evening in a glowing procession, followed by a special holiday story, hot cocoa, and cookies around a cozy bonfire.
• The Nutcracker Performances, by Ballet 5:8 – Enjoy special selections from “The Nutcracker,” showcasing highlights from this beloved holiday classic.
• “The Nutcracker” “Make and Take” Ornament – Create your own Nutcracker-themed ornament craft to take home as a keepsake.
• Carols Led by Sammy Listro – Sing along with Sammy Listro as he leads beloved holiday carols, with audience participation encouraged!
