Jackie Haas, State Representative for the 79th District is proud to announce the endorsement of several groups who represent first responders. These organizations have come together to enthusiastically support Haas, and include the Illinois Sheriffs Association, Illinois Fraternal Order of Police, Associated Firefighters Association, and the Chicago Firefighters Union Local 2.

These groups represent thousands of first responders across Illinois, and their endorsements recognize Haas’s dedication and support of our public safety and first responder personnel, the wellbeing of our police, firefighters, and all emergency personnel. Haas’ consistent advocacy for public safety resources and support for first responders has made a tangible difference in their ability to serve and protect our communities.

“I consider myself extremely fortunate to have Jackie Haas as our representative. Over the years of knowing Rep. Haas, I have always been profoundly impressed by the way in which she conducts herself in such a professional manner. Her expertise and knowledge on so many issues are among a few reasons she has risen to the rank of Assistant Minority Leader in the House of Representatives,” said Kankakee County Sheriff Mike Downey.

“Jackie’s efforts to introduce legislation to help strengthen law enforcement’s mission to ultimately maintain public safety has proven critical time-and-time again. She is well known throughout the Kankakee County area as one of the strongest advocates for police, and her unwavering support through some of the most challenging of times is deeply appreciated by all who wear the badge,” Downey stated.

“In addition to her support in the law enforcement field, Rep. Haas has a reputation of being extremely fair and honest. Her knowledge and expertise go much farther than public safety. Jackie does the research and reaches out to her constituents for their input, as well. These are some of the reasons I unequivocally endorse Rep. Jackie Haas for re-election in the 79th District,” he continued.

“I am incredibly honored to receive these endorsements from our first responders for my work in Springfield. I have worked hard to support the public safety industry, file legislation to protect and enhance the safety of their personnel, as well as our communities. I have been a constant voice of advocacy and support. Our first responders put their lives on the line for us every day, and I am committed to ensuring they will be safe, able to do their jobs, and return home to their families at the end of their shifts,” Haas noted.
