The University of Kentucky Alumni Association announced the Alumni Ambassadors for the 2024-2025 academic year. Among them is Josephine Bernier, of New Lenox, a student in the College of Arts and Sciences. Bernier’s primary major is Political Science.
As official student hosts of the University of Kentucky, Alumni Ambassadors promote the university at numerous events in partnership between the Office of the President, Office of Philanthropy, and the UK Alumni Association. Alumni Ambassadors represent the best and brightest of UK students, demonstrating high achievement in their collegiate careers and a dedication to the advancement of the university.
A total of 1,465 students at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater were recipients of scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year. Congratulations to: Manhattan recipient Maddie Cichon, who is studying Theatre and won the Jim Butchart Memorial Scholarship, Greenhill Endowment; plus New Lenox residents, Zach Gorecki, who is studying Occupational Safety and won the Wheelchair Athletics Scholarship, plus Miles Hagen, studying Biology and who won the Joseph and Madeline Chopp Scholarship.

Alabama Students Participate in Crimson Entrepreneurship Academy: This summer, the Alabama Entrepreneurship Institute at the University of Alabama held its sixth Crimson Entrepreneurship Academy program with a total of 27 students. The nine-week pre-accelerator program focuses on helping students progress their ideas. Students receive a $4,000 stipend to support working on their business ideas full time in the summer. They meet experts, participate in workshops with guest speakers, and benefit from one-on-one coaching. The CEA curriculum is based on three pillars – building confidence, building a business, and building networks. Congratulations to New Lenox students Maxwell McNally and Anthony Sherman who participated in the program.
