Helping Hands is Peotone’s non-profit food pantry that currently provides food and other basic essentials twice a month to approximately 80-90 households (about 650 people per month in the Peotone area who are in need of assistance).
It is organized by a group of volunteers from various churches and the community but would not be possible without their support and generosity. For every $1 received, Helping Hands is able to purchase $8 of food. They distribute more than seven tons of food each month!
With the holidays approaching, Helping Hands is purchasing 180 holiday dinners this year or Thanksgiving and Christmas. A $20 donation will provide a holiday meal for a family of four! The Thanksgiving meal includes a turkey and all the trimmings, while the Christmas meal features ham and all the trimmings!
