Visitation was held September 27 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Pius Church on September 28. His final resting place is at Resurrection Cemetery. Service was celebrated by Szykowny Funeral Home 4901 S. Archer Ave.

Dorothy Krzysiak long- time resident of Chicago’s Garfield Ridge Community, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, September 27, 2024 with her family at her side.
She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Krzysiak; loving mother of Roseann (Daniel) Kosowski, Lawrence (Tammy) Tomklawicz, Wayne (Joyce) Krzysiak and Ken (Paula) Krzysiak; proud grandmother of Melissa (Matthew) Di Bari, Kevin (Anna) Kosowski, Heather (Donovan) Button, the late Samantha Tomklawicz, Michael (Tori) Krzysiak, Brian (Tracey)Krzysiak , April Krzysiak and Christopher Krzysiak; dear great-grandmother of Logan, Parker, Caleb and Silas. Dorothy was preceded in death by her siblings and their spouses, Florian and Theresa Tylman and Loretta and Richard Welch. Aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Foran Funeral Home on October 3 until time of Prayers. Procession from the funeral home to St. Daniel the Prophet Church for a Mass of Christian burial. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Resurrection Cemetery.
She was the beloved wife of the late Julius “Lou” Madej; loving mother of Richard (Dawn) Madej and Karen Madej (Carl Nodus); dear grandmother of Carol (Andy) Braun and Erik (Kristen) Madej; cherished great grandmother of Jack, Sara and Aubrey. Alice was preceded in death by her sisters and their spouses, Helen and Ed Gottfried, Irene and Charles Squires, Stephanie and Frank Para and Ray Cole. Alice will be remembered dearly by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.

OMAR OREA
Omar Orea, 48 years old, of Mexico passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024 in his sleep with family lovingly by his side.
Son of Margarita Carrillo; brother of Yajaira Orea, Gricel and Magali Brito; father of Kiara Orea; uncle of Ivan and Victor Magaña, Montzerrat Brito, and Kamila and Valeria Guillen; grandfather of Romeo and Benicio Orea.
Born in Temixco, Morelos. Moved to the USA at age 13. Lived in Chicago and California throughout his life. Big Cubs and Bears Fan. He enjoyed dancing, joking, and making friends. Also strong will kind hearted, passionate, humbled, and compassionate.
Omar lived a full life, often enjoying watching sports games, going to movie theaters, family reunions, car rides, listening to music and enjoyed working as a lift driver the last year.

We are saddened to announce that Robert “Bob” Powers of Chicago’s Garfield Ridge community passed away at home Tuesday evening with his loving family at his side.
He was the beloved husband for 65 years to Melodie Powers; loving father of Pamela (Kevin) McCauley, Robert P. (Gwynn) Powers, Dawn (the late James) Thomas and Kelly (Dennis) Fuller; proud grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 8. Bob worked for over 30 years for the Chicago Park District. He was an avid golfer and loved to golf at Lockport Golf Club. His strong love for his family, compassion and generosity leave a legacy treasured by his children, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly loved and forever missed.
A memorial visitation was held Wednesday, October 2, at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem) with a Service in Celebration of Bob’s life. Bob was laid to rest at Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park at a later date.

He was the loving brother of the late Dolores E. “Dolly” Rokos and the late Edward Rokos. Beloved cousin of Joseph (Audrey) Panek and LaVerne Bartolini; cherished Uncle Bob to Thomas (Linda) Panek, Timothy (Sherry) Panek, John (Nicole) Panek, Christopher Panek, Philip (Kathryn) Panek and the late Nancy (Michael) Gatto, Katherine Mary Panek and Margaret Mary Panek; dear godfather of Thomas Panek.

Walter was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Elfrida (nee Gensbigelis), in February. He is also survived by his daughters, Debra Russell and Sandra (Rick) Passarelli; loving Poppop to Erick Passarelli, Sam Passarelli, Amber (Michael) Collevy and Shannon (Andrew) Diana, great Poppop to baby Callum Collevy and baby Stella Diana. Caroline C. Sutor (née Budz), 89, a lifelong resident of Hickory Hills, passed away at home on October 6.
She was born and raised as the only child of Chicago tavern owners Ella Mae (née Huber) and John Budz.
She was the loving mother of three cherished sons Doug (Carol), David (Laurie), Mark (Theresa). Beloved “Grammy” to Derek (Jackie), Eric (Kaylee), Chad, Matt, Jennie (fiancée Alex) and Alexandra (Spencer), and great-grandmother of six.
She was a retired dedicated employee of Carl Sandburg High School of 25 years, as well as a lifelong Cubs fan, proud supporter of all IU Athletics, and an avid bingo player.
She was preceded in death by her later-in-life loving companion James Marciniak.
The family is eternally grateful for the loving assistance and caregiving she received for the final two years of her life from three angels-on-earth, Vilma, Aiste and Ilona.

Patricia E. Urich (nee Fryer), 68, of Hometown, passed away at home on October 2 one day shy of her 69th birthday.
She was the beloved daughter of the late James J. Il and Angeline Fryer. Devoted wife of Robert Sr. Loving mother of Kenneth Fryer, Robert Urich Jr.; cherished grandmother of Keely and Kenzie Fryer. Dear sister of the late James Fryer III, the late MaryAnne (the late Norman Boyer), the late Gail M. (Gilbert, Sr. Izzo), Michael W. (Steve) Fryer. Wanda Wijas, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on September 19, 2024, in Chesterton, Indiana, due to congestive heart failure. Born on January 1, 1937, in Poland, Wanda’s journey was one marked by compassion, thoughtfulness, and dedication to the well-being of others.
In her personal life, Wanda was the loving wife of the late Joseph Wijas, a partnership that was a testament to mutual support and enduring love. She was a cherished mother to Lidia Wolin and her husband Phil, as well as to Liz Hattam and her husband Garry. Wanda’s role as a grandmother to Olivia Cardet, married to Morgan, was one of her greatest joys, and the birth of her great-granddaughter, Lucy Jo Cardet, added a new layer of love to her family tapestry.
Wanda’s memory will be cherished and kept alive by her adoring family, including her daughters, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter, as well as by the countless friends and family whose lives she enriched. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
