Illinois Lutheran started the week with a River Valley Conference match on Tuesday, September 24, at Grace Christian. The Chargers came up short in an exciting three-set match, losing 23-25, 25-21, 21-25. Madison Permenter led the offense with 8 kills and had 2 aces, 14 digs, and a block assist. Mia Jacobucci led the defense with 17 digs and also had 2 aces. Emma Nagle tallied 1 ace, 21 assists, 8 digs, and a block assist; Azaylia Sanchez added 3 aces, 4 kills, and 12 digs; and Anna Oestmann had 1 ace, 6 kills, and 12 digs. Kimberly Danielewicz also recorded 6 kills and a block assist, while Mikah Harris ended with 2 kills and a block assist.

On Thursday, September 26, the Chargers hosted Momence in another RVC matchup. The Chargers started out slow and dropped the first set 15-25. In the second set, even though the Chargers were down 3-8, they fought back and tied it at 20. From that point, it was back-and-forth until Momence took the second set and match 25-23. Anna Oestmann had 2 aces, 4 kills, and 8 digs, along with Kimberly Danielewicz tallying 1 ace, 5 kills, and a solo block. Mia Jacobucci also added an ace to go along with her 10 digs, plus Emma Nagle added 15 assists and 6 digs. Madison Permenter had 5 kills and 4 digs, while Azaylia Sanchez recorded 3 kills plus a team high 11 digs.

The Chargers are now 8-11 overall and 4-3 in the RVC. They are headed to Wisconsin Lutheran College for the Lutheran Invitational Tournament on Saturday, September 28.
