Manteno: On Tuesday, September 17, the Manteno Panther volleyball team traveled to Streator, in a conference match-up with the Bulldogs. It was a tough battle, resulting in losing two-of-the-three sets. The Panthers were led by senior Brynn Nikonchuk, with 8 kills, 3 assists, 3 blocks, and 15 digs. Also scoring were sophomore Maddie Gesky, with 5 kills, 4 blocks, 2 assists, and 1 dig, plus senior Kaylee Boubreau, who recorded 15 digs. The Panthers are 6-5 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
Peotone: In conference action on September 17, the Peotone Blue Devils took on the Reed-Custer Comets in Braidwood. The Comets were no match for the Lady Blue Devils – as they took the match in straight sets, 25-18 and 25-12. The Lady Blue Devils were led by juniors Mia Connolley, with 10 kills and 1 ace; Allie Werner, with 16 assists and 4 aces; Ava Kosmos – 3 kills and 2 aces; Cora Pagliarulo – 3 kills; and Ella Stupegia, with 1 ace 6 digs. The Lady Blue Devils currently are 2-3 in conference play and 5-4 overall.
