On September 3, at approximately 4:28 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Tameka Johnson, 48, of Park Forest. Johnson was issued a citation for driving while her license was suspended. She was released with a notice-to-appear via her citation.
On September 5, at approximately 9:03 p.m., Monee Officers were called to the 5300 block of Mulberry Lane for a welfare check. Upon further investigation, officers learned the call centered around an aggravated domestic battery, with injuries to the victim. The officers also discovered the victim left the residence to avoid further contact. Officers were unable to locate the offender on this date. The next day, September 6, Monee investigators contacted the offender, who came to the Monee Police Department voluntarily. Brandon Southerland, 36, of Monee, was charged with aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery-bodily harm. He was taken to the Will County Detention Center for further processing.
On September 7, at approximately 1 a.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Ronald Johnson, 36, of University Park. Johnson was issued citations for driving with an expired license plate, driving while his license was suspended, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. He was released with a notice-to-appear via his citations.
On September 7, at approximately 7:52 a.m., Monee Officers were dispatched to 5737 W. Monee-Manhattan Road (Taco Bell/KFC), for a report of four subjects sleeping in a vehicle while waiting at the drive-through window. Upon the officer’s arrival, they discovered three subjects, not four, who were still unconscious. Officers had the Monee Fire District Paramedics respond to the scene to check their medical status. All three subjects could wake up, and all refused further medical treatment. A plastic bag with an unknown white substance in it was recovered. The driver, Keven Lewis, was arrested and relocated to the Monee Police Department for processing. Lewis was charged with possession of a controlled substance, then released with a notice-to-appear.
On September 9, at approximately 12:38 a.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Sherrod Chaney, 52, of Richton Park. Chaney was issued citations for driving while his license was revoked, in addition to failure of driver and passenger to wear a seat belt. He was released with a notice-to-appear via his citations.
