Grand Opening of MG19 Salon Suites in Oak Lawn – Hair, Makeup, and Lash Services
“You can find us online, or we’re just a phone call away,” said Sarah Tyree, manager of the new MG19 Salon Suites, 11040 S. Kilpatrick Ave.
Tyree said the Oak Lawn location is ideal, and she is familiar with the area.
“I grew up around here and lived in Worth,” said Tyree, who now resides in Palos Heights. “This is such a great community, and we just have to spread the word.”
Tyree plans to spend more time at the Oak Lawn salon suites in the future. For now, she is a regular presence at the first MG19 Salon Suites, which opened a year ago at 3240 W. 111th St. in Chicago’s Mount Greenwood neighborhood.
Edward “Eddie” McBrearty, owner of both salons, was excited about the Oak Lawn opening, believing the location is highly attractive.
“I live in St. Catherine Parish in Oak Lawn, and we are part of the community,” said McBrearty, who is also a real estate developer building 15 luxury condos in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood.
“I’m kind of behind the scenes. Sarah handles all the public relations and ensures everything runs smoothly. We make a great team.”
Oak Lawn Chamber of Commerce members were present for the grand opening. Tyree expressed gratitude for the organization’s support. Oak Lawn Mayor Terry Vorderer also attended the event and participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“When they first started, I wasn’t so sure about this,” Vorderer said. “But I was wrong. This is such a great facility—spacious and welcoming. I want to thank you for investing in Oak Lawn.”
“This is a great area with many businesses nearby,” McBrearty added. “There’s a lot of traffic, and we believe more people will be coming here.”
The new MG19 Salon Suites opened in March. Tyree said progress has been steady. Currently, seven suites are occupied by stylists, and with the grand opening, she is confident the remaining five units will be filled soon.
Each suite representative has their own contact information, hours of operation, services, promotions, products, and payment options. Tyree said the suites offer a wide range of professionals, including hair stylists, estheticians, permanent makeup artists, and lash service providers.
Tyree said clients to directly contact the professionals of their choice. She added that each professional operates an independent business with their own terms and conditions.
“We operate 24/7, so clients can access services at any time,” Tyree said. “We also have 24-hour security.”
In addition to the suites, the large facility includes a kitchen and laundry service. Featured amenities include large windows for natural lighting, private internet, single and double suites, and advertising opportunities.
McBrearty said the land where the salon stands was purchased two years ago. Previously, it was a parking lot for a nearby bank. The building was constructed from the ground up, beginning in January.
“This is a high-end operation,” McBrearty said. “It’s very open, and we’ve been pretty busy. Prices are reasonable, too.”
