JAMES W. BRINKLEY

Flag FuneralJames W. Brinkley, 91, of Palos Hills, passed away on August 23, 2024.

He was an Army veteran.

Born on January 25, 1933, in McKenzie, Tennessee, to Jessie and Lou Gertie Duke Brinkley, James was the youngest of four brothers, all of whom predeceased him.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 68 years, Elizabeth (née Swift); his children, David (Tracy) Brinkley, Darlene (Jeff) Twaragowski, and Stephen Brinkley; and his grandchildren, Charles (Carrie), Timothy, and LeighAnne (Ted). He was also a proud great-grandfather to Nathan, Devyn, and Sophia Twaragowski, Arianna Brinkley, and Jameson Voss.

James was known for his strength, quiet demeanor, and kind heart. He was a loyal and devoted family man, providing unwavering support to his loved ones throughout his life. His dedication and hard work were evident during his career at Western Electric and AT&T, where he was known for his reliability and commitment.

A lover of nature and an avid reader, James possessed many talents and left behind a legacy of beautiful memories and stories. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Services were held at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 Southwest Highway, Palos Hills. Interment was at Fairmont Willow Hills Cemetery.

HernandezFERNANDO “NANDO” HERNANDEZ

Our hearts are broken to announce the tragic passing of Fernando “Nando” Hernandez, age 40, from Chicago, Avondale Community on August 22.

He was the beloved son of Amador and Guadalupe Hernandez; much loved brother of Ana Hernandez (Gilberto) Olivas and Carlos (Rocio) Hernandez; cherished uncle of Aidan, Joselyn, Madelyn Hernandez and Alec and Nadia Olivas. Fernando was much loved by Alexis. He will be remembered dearly by his many aunts, uncles and cousins. A true and loyal friend, Fernando will be terribly missed by his many friends. With his dynamic, warm and engaging personality, he filled every room he entered with his positive energy. He was a treasure and he loved his hometown, Chicago and was always rooting for the Cubs and Bulls . To know him was to love him, he will be deeply missed, always loved and forever remembered. The world is a better place because of him.

Visitation was hel August 27 at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation at the funeral home was held August 28 until time of Prayers. Procession from the funeral home to St. Daniel the Prophet Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Fernando will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery. ReynaJAVIER TELLEZ REYNA

Javier Tellez Reyna who was born on September 1, 1961, passed away on August 17, 2024 at the age of 63.

Visitation was held August 21 at Szykowny Funeral Home, 4901 S. Archer Ave.  Jonathan Siedlecki owner-director.  Funeral Service was celebrated the on August 21 at the funeral home. Javier’s final resting place is at Resurrection Cemetery.

DORIS J. SEITZ

Doris J. Seitz (née Heidorn), 82, a resident of Worth, passed away on August 29, 2024.

She was the beloved wife of Duane L. Seitz and the cherished mother of Duane “Charlie” Seitz, Dean (Angela) Seitz, and the late Denise M. Brown. She was a loving grandmother to Edward, Paul (Caitlin), Landon, and Everett Seitz. Doris was a dear sister to Betty (the late Zeke) Petryk and was preceded in death by her sisters, Geri Carrington and Ellen Meyer.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8, from 3-8 p.m. at Becvar & Son Funeral Home, 5539 W. 127th St., Crestwood. A funeral service will take place on Monday, Sept. 9, at 10:15 a.m. at Pilgrim Faith United Church of Christ, 9411 S. 51st Ave., Oak Lawn, with interment at Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) would be appreciated.

Salvador Zacarias who was born on December 14, 1940, passed away on August 14, 2024 at the age of 83.

Visitation was held August 22 at Szykowny Funeral Home, 4901 S. Archer Ave.  Jonathan Siedlecki owner-director.  Funeral Mass was celebrated August 23 at St. Gall Church.  Salvador final resting place is at St. Mary Cemetery.
