A “Healthy Lifestyle Event” will be hosted in University Park to provide produce, healthcare services, and community resources on Thursday, August 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the University Park Village Hall, 90 Towncenter Drive.
Will County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant is partnering with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, the Village of University Park, the Will County Health Department and Community Health Center, and the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services to host this event.
“These events are aimed at promoting healthy outcomes for residents by both direct services and the connection to local resources that provide support throughout the year,” said County Executive Bertino-Tarrant. “This is our second year hosting this event in University Park, and I appreciate all our partners who are working with us to provide healthcare services to the community.”
The event will feature a variety of free healthcare services, including wellness checks, pediatric immunizations (from birth-to-15-months-old), and care coordination. Free fruit and vegetables also will be provided to attendees, while supplies last. Various state and local agencies will be on-hand to share information about local resources and services.
