2023 RECORD: 7-3 (lost 56-20 to Kaneland in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs)
OUTLOOK: It’s a new season and for the third straight year a new conference for the Bulldogs, who now belong to the UpState 8. Coach Sam Styler and company is ready to make some noise.
“It has been a while since we have been in a conference with comparable opponents, and we are excited for the opportunity to compete for the East Division conference championship.”
Riverside-Brookfield has seven returning starters, including offensive linemen Damien Nieves, Issac Olivares and Carter Shelby, and tight end Nick Rivera.
Back on defense are Kaleb McCottry (DL), Eric Servin (LB) and Max Strong (LB).
Multi-sport athlete Xavier Mrozik-DeJesus is a junior wide receiver stepping into a bigger role this season. Mrozik-DeJesus also plays lacrosse, which helps him work on his speed and handwork as a receiver.
“Our team goals are always the same: qualify for the playoffs, and win the conference,” Styler said.
DID YOU KNOW? Hinsdale South is the only 2024 opponent R-B played last season. The Bulldogs defeated the Hornets 35-27.
