Jose Carmen Ortiz, 87
Jose Carmen Ortiz, a longtime resident of Chicago’s Little Village community, died on Aug. 10, three days after his 87th birthday.
He was the beloved husband of the late Maria Guadalupe Perez and the loving father of Alberto Ortiz (Juan Carlos Gonzalez), Natalia Ortiz, Rosa Maria Ortiz, Martha Elena (Roberto) Lara, Margarita Ortiz (Reynel Villalobas), Ofelia Ortiz, Raul Ortiz (Scott Mossman), Antonio Ortiz, and the late Sgt. Juan Ramon Ortiz, C.P.D. Jose will be dearly missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as by his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews.
A Mass was celebrated for Jose on Aug. 14 at Epiphany Church. Visitation was held on the same day at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th Street just west of Harlem). Ortizwas laid to rest alongside his wife and son on Aug. 16 at St. Casimir Cemetery.
