The Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program recently awarded Kensing, a leading plant-based vitamin E manufacturer based in Kankakee, with a generous $350,000 incentive. This incentive will support Kensing’s retrofitting project, specifically the installation of a regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) – one of the most energy-efficient pieces of equipment available today.

By utilizing the heat generated during the oxidation process, the RTO significantly will reduce Kensing’s energy usage and improve their production process. In fact, Kensing is expected to save more than 636,000 therms annually, which is equivalent to 3,700 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
