On August 2, officers arrested Achilles Dawson, 19, of Glenwood, after conducting a traffic stop at Eastern and Groebe Drive in which a green leafy substance (suspect cannabis) was located. Dawson was arrested and issued citations for defective windshield, unlawful possession of cannabis by driver, failure to wear seat belt, disobey stop sign, and speeding.
On August 5, officers arrested Fontay Taylor, 31, of Kankakee, after conducting a traffic stop at Smith and Foxford. Taylor initially refused to stop/pull over for police and, at one point, went around a police vehicle that had emergency lights activated. Taylor was arrested and issued citations for driving while license suspended, failure to yield to emergency vehicle, and defective windshield.
On August 6, officers arrested Demarcus Porter, 28, of Aurora, after conducting a traffic stop at Rt. 52 and Bruns Road in which Porter was traveling 70-mph in a 55-mph zone. Porter was issued citations for speeding and driving while license suspended.
