The days of summer are dwindling but that did not stop Orland Park from savoring the last of the season with a three-day food festival.

Village of Orland Park employees, Donna Rodriguez and Libby Paulson, volunteered at the Taste of Orland.

The Tate of Orland Park was held the weekend of August 4 at Orland Park’s Metra Station at 15609 Park Station Blvd., Orland Park.

This was the first time for the Taste’s new location and the hot summer sun, with temperatures rising into the 90s, did not stop the crowds from attending the three-day festival.

The Taste of Orland was sponsored by Orland Park’s Recreation Department and showcased more than 20 different local restaurants for people to have the chance to try out, if they haven’t already yet. The 21st annual event also featured music from nine different bands over the three-day period.

However, the fun did not stop there, as the Taste of Orland also showcased a Kid’s Zone with games, bubbles, prizes and fun, both community organization and festival sponsor booths were on-site, as well, including representatives from the Orland Park Public Library, the Orland Park Fire Department and more.

The annual summer event has been held by the village since 2004.
