On June 6, at approximately 8:15 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Malik Shahiem Lewis, 26, of Lansing. Lewis was issued citations for operating a vehicle while his driver’s license was suspended or revoked, operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, and operating a vehicle without insurance. He was released with a notice-to-appear via his citations.
On June 8, at approximately 9:45 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Antwon Drew, 46, of Gary, Indiana. Drew was issued citations for speeding over the statutory limit, improper lighting, operating an uninsured vehicle, DUI Alcohol, and DUI BAC .08 or more. Drew also was found to have an outstanding warrant for failure-to-appear. He was released with a notice-to-appear via his citations and posted a bond for his warrant.
On June 10, at approximately 3:29 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Kristina Nichols, 21, of Hammond, Indiana. Nichols was charged with operating a vehicle when registration expired, operating an uninsured vehicle, and operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked driver’s license. Nichols was given a notice-to-appear via her citations.
On June 11, at approximately 4:18 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Keshawn Peeples, 20, of Chicago. Peeples was charged with speeding over the statutory limit and operating a vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Peeples was given a notice-to-appear via his citations.
On June 11, at approximately 3:15 p.m., a vehicle was sitting at the stop sign at Industrial Drive, waiting to turn left at the intersection of Governors Highway. A vehicle traveling southbound on Governor’s Highway proceeded to turn right onto Westbound Industrial Drive and, while doing so, exited his lane and struck the driver’s side door of the other vehicle. There were no injuries reported. Remember: Please take a moment to slow down and give yourself plenty of time to get to work. Accidents happen more often when we run late and drive to make up time.
